I always manage to pick boys that make me feel lonelier when I'm with them than when I'm actually single. Not complaining. Just making a simple observation.

I prefer things watered down. I put ice in my juice because I like it when the ice melts. Sometimes I avoid the whole melting process and just add water and stir. This comes in handy when I make kool-aid because I can make almost twice as much out of one of those little powder packets. Kool-aid is very expensive these days. I believe it's something to do with war rations.

And I just want you all to know that I do...

Yesterday was my first real day of work at both Auntie Anne's and Cici's pizza. I had just gotten out of the weekend long drug study that morning at 8 AM so it was a pretty busy day.
I absolutely love my managers at Auntie Anne's. I really like that job. It's easy and fun. I have no idea how to make a pretzel.
Cici's was decent too. I feel kind of bad about that one. Nick's brother got me the job. It took so long for them to actually call and give me an interview and by that time Auntie Anne's had already hired me. I think they wanted me partly because I had such a flexible schedule. I'm definitely going to have to quit one before school starts though and I definitely told both Auntie Anne's and Cici's that I was going to quit the other job and stick with them. I really hope I don't piss everyone off by having them work around my schedule.
I think I like Auntie Anne's better. I'm not sure yet. At least their floor isn't covered in a thick layer of grease. I'm really worried about that. As Josh Mullins suggested, I should get some golf cleats so I can really dig in. Otherwise I'm going to slide right into that huge pizza oven they have. It's going to be a mess. Blood and tits everywhere.
My arms are fucking sore. They had two different nurses stab me four times to get the heplock in. Then after they took the heplock out for the last few blood draws they had to poke me twice almost every time to find a decent vein. I am not afraid of needles at all, but the last few times I was about to cry. They were poking into already bruised up areas of my arm. It got really sore when I was at Cici's pressing dough. Then last night after my 8 PM draw I put my arm out to open my door and blood started gushing down my arm. Fucking ridiculous.
Also, it's a blast explaining to your new employer that no, you don't have a drug problem. You're poor and doing a drug study. Oh yeah, that's another thing both jobs are going to have to work around on the next two weekends. My managers are going to hate me.
Oh yes, a big HELLO to Melissa who apparantly lives at the mall like I do and who also apparently is a regular reader. Silly girl.

Fortunately, it was unable to walk.

*UPDATE*
I found it. Somehow it made it back to the charger where it belonged. Yeah. I have no idea. My shoes where half on the porch and in the yard (that's one on the porch and one in the yard if you don't feel like doing the math yourself). The camera was in the pantry. I apparently got the idea that the contents of my purse needed to be thrown about my room. Graham crackers were all over the floor. But my phone ended up on the charger. The ringer wasn't on for some reason though. I'm sure it made perfect sense to drunk Amber.

Last night was hilarous! LOL hilarious, even.

Chara introduced me to my new favorite place on Earth. It beat out Cooper's Rock just by a little bit. It's the backwaters at Cheat Lake and it's beeeeautiful there. It's like Cooper's Rock only with water really close by as opposed to thousands of feet down into the bottom of a ravine. And let's face it, water makes any location better. Who's with me? Mairin... I'm lookin' your way, you little doggy-paddler you.
There was a lovely waterfall so we climbed to the top of it. Then there was another one behind that one and we hiked over it and found ANOTHER ONE. By the end of our little outing we were just like "GOD DAMMIT NOT ANOTHER FUCKING WATERFALL. JESUS CHRIST." Really. Okay, not really.

Then when I came home I was exhausted from spending hours in the sun so I just crawled into bed and slept for way too long. Then Allie called to remind me that they were watching porn in her Women in Films class and I went because they were going to watch porn on the big screens and that, my friends, is awesome. I was bummed to find out that the porn-viewing had been canceled because they were apparently behind schedule and had to watch a horror movie instead. Weak sauce.
I'll be damned if I didn't completely forget to eat today. It just never crossed my mind because I was pretty occupied with entertaining things like swimming and climbing on slippery rocks and coming home and sleeping for four hours and then going to not watch porn in a class I'm not even in.

I want today to be over so I can go walk around on the rail trail. I love that damn thing. I put on my headphones and walk for hours and hours. It's lovely and I get a tan.

I finally saw the rockumentary "Dig!". It was interesting. It's fun to watch people completely self-destruct and it had some pretty great music in it too. I liked it. I really wonder who had the foresight to follow those guys around with a camera for every important event that took place over a seven year period.

I went to Goodwill today by myself and I got four shirts and a sheriff hat.

I think I need one of these. I'd have to get another Pee-wee Herman though so they could hang out. They'd get along famously I'm sure.

You know what, while you're at it... go to Cat Town and read some episodes.

Mel and I attended theme party at her sister's house Saturday night. I finally thought of a sweet costume idea two days too late for us. The theme was "Dress as your favorite Saturday Night Live character" and I wanted to be Roseanne Rosannadanna but I can't do the impresson well at all and my hair is definitely not nappy enough. Not to mention it didn't take care of the costume-less Melissa problem. So I decided we should have been Wayne and Garth. It would have involved wearing old t-shirts and ripping holes in our jeans and we wouldn't need wigs because I have long brown hair and she has long blonde hair. Wow, you guys. I suck.

I have more to write but I'm going to be lazy and stop now.

Another weekend of work beneath my belt. I made $98 dollars in tips for just Friday and Saturday. It's not really my money. It's all going directly to my mom to pay her back for rent. I'm not going to last much longer if I don't start seeing some rewards. I would love to be able to buy some new clothes or a DVD some time soon. I'm working my ass off here. Seriously, it's sore. I hope to be out of the hole within the next few weeks.
Things were really busy here on Saturday. A whole flock of bikers (they travel in flocks, right?) spent Saturday night at the inn and pretty much had the run of things. Everybody around me, coworkers and bikers, were being total jerks so I was teetering on the edge of insanity when Will came into the kitchen to tell me I had two visitors. MAIRIN and ANSEL showed up late Saturday evening as a surprise. You kids don't understand how happy it made me to see them. Laura took the weekend off to go to first Friday in Pittsburgh so I was pretty lonely and the bikers were giving me hell (and not really tipping very well) so I was seriously on the edge before they showed up. And because they were there, I sat and visited with them and instead of cleaning and today I got out of working dinner shift because we drove to Virginia instead. Which reminds me, I really think I'm getting the hang of this standard business. I still have yet to successfully start on a hill, but I'm looking for a nice safe one to learn on. Wow, it was a lovely drive. THEN THERE WAS A RAINBOW. Oooh.
So right now it's like 1 AM and Laura and I are painting the addition in the kitchen. We're kinda tag-teaming because we only have one roller. So I'm using my break time to update.

I'm coming home tomorrow. Home meaning SPENCER home. I'm coming back for the sole purpose of watching the season premiere of Six Feet Under. Y'all can meet Laura finally if'n you're interested. I want to see these people for sure:

TODAY I rediscovered the joy of stuffing my face full of saltine crackers and then blowing them all over the place. It's always been a favorite pastime of mine. Laura and I went out onto the back porch of the inn and spit cracker shit all over each other while we laughed hysterically and almost choked to death. The cook, Harris, thought we went out back to smoke some of THE WEED. The really cool thing is that Harris didn't give a shit whether we were out back spitting crackers, smoking weed, or eating babies. He just doesn't care what we do. He's a funny sort. He's a wiccan and loves cats but he hates most people. He has a great sense of humor and a really fun laugh. Laura is becoming his disciple because she's learning to cook. I'll stick to waiting tables though because I make mad money.

Umm everyone here smokes pot. Seriously. I smell it on people all the time.
